Network Administrator

Summary This employee will be responsible for maintaining the optimum performance of our network systems. Also responsible for implementing new technologies, performing analysis, monitoring, upgrades, maintenance, documentation, and technical support.                   

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Configuration, installation, and management of the networking equipment, Cisco, Aruba, and other various routers and switches.
  • Design, implementation, and maintenance of network infrastructure
  • Support of ESXi/SAN/Veeam network infrastructure
  • Configuration, installation, and management of PaloAlto Firewalls, IPsec VPN, security policies, firewall rules, etc.
  • Configuration, installation, and management of the Aruba Wi-Fi system
  • Working with other IT team members on various systems and network projects and implementations
  • Maintain network connectivity for multiple locations of all computer workstations and provide network support to the end users
  • Monitoring performance and troubleshooting network stability and issues
  • Write technical support documentation for network systems and document network topology. Maintain and keep current network diagrams and network documentation
  • System monitoring, alerting, problem logging, and coordinating tasks effectively to troubleshoot issues for prompt resolution
  • Perform other network administration duties, networking equipment updates, mitigation, identification and troubleshooting of system issues, network equipment asset management, performance tuning, and change management
  • Support other team members of the Network and IT Operations team.

Academic Qualifications

Computer science degree or equivalent, plus 2-4 years prior work experience in a similar environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required skills and qualifications 

  • Three or more years of experience in a system administration role
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2 and above, and Microsoft Active Directory
  • Experience with virtualized server infrastructures, VMWare 6.0 or higher
  • Previous experience with VMware SRM
  • Previous experience with SAN servers
  • Authentication services including Active Directory, Radius, and NPS

Professional Skills/ Experience     

MCSE and A+, CCNA, CCNP, CCEA, and CNA are a plus.
