TAPTITE 2000® is a thread-forming screw with outstanding mechanical, fastening and ergonomic characteristics. The new version of the Taptite® screw introduced an innovative new thread design – the Radius Profile™ Thread. At the same time, the proven TRILOBULAR™ principle was retained.

Advantages of Thread-Forming Screws

TAPTITE 2000® screws reduce the overall cost of assembly by eliminating machining operations. They enable you to eliminate work steps such as thread-forming as well as the use of additional fastening elements. The trilobular™ cross-section geometry of the screw shaft creates a chipless thread, ensuring that if repair is needed a conventional threaded screw can be used as a replacement.

Features

  • Low forming torque
  • High vibration resistance
  • High pre-load forces
  • Low end-load
  • High assembly reliability
  • Resist internal thread stripping
  • Excellent axial alignment
  • Results in higher strength internal threads due to the cold flow/work hardening that occurs during the forming of the nut thread

Applications

Taptite 2000® screws are ideal for high-strength pre-tensioned bolted connections in industrial applications where both an economical as well as a process-safe assembly is important. Examples include

  • Automotive engineering/chassis engineering
  • Plant and mechanical engineering
  • Vehicle engineering
  • Transport system construction
